Billion dollars or billion hearts- the day when India unite

What could be the best thing to read n the notice board at the gate of a big corporate on Wednesday morning?? It read "Come if you want to, big screens are employed in the office, But you will not be given holiday for finale at Saturday." This was 30th Wednesday, 2011, when India takes on Pakistan at the semifinals of CWC 2011 for setting up the clash for coveted trophy at Wankhede Mumbai, on 2 April.

I have been following Indian Cricket since 1996 world cup, but I've never seen a hype either by an individual or by media like the one we all have been seeing since past 6 days. "India takes on Pakistan in the Second Semi-Finals at Mohali on 30th March- Arch rivals, mother of all battle, India's world cup final match, desh ka final, and what could an extreme cricket fan could can think of". These were the kinds of headline and statements produced at the center of news agencies.Statistics says, India never lost to Pakistan in any WC game, but, Jinx was greater on India- Pakistan never lost to India at Mohali, and if Sachin scores a ton, India's chances of winning decrease considerably, India never won a semi final in India...

Shouting India, India,.. India on each Pakistan wicket that falls, people engaging into all sort of religious activities like havans n poojas at various temples, ibadad at dargah, and a few among us talked about what he/she is gonna do if India wins.. Here are some real time promises or rather Oaths.. -
1. I will not smoke for a week if India wins..
2. Please be seated in the same position as you were as wicket just fell down- as if the sitting arrangement would crumbs the arch rivals..
3. I will visit temple on every Saturday to thank god for this empathetic win if India cruises
4. I will keep fast on Wednesdays till 30th March 2012 if India wins today..
....... n there are numerous bribe offered to the nature and Maker for India wins.

People made their own beliefs and probabilities with a vague idea of existence of any possibilities of occurring the event in accordance with the history. First time I found all the news channels covering a same set of news and updates about the match for more than 4 days. My satisfactory university result did not give me so much happiness as I was content and fulfilled by watching the final equation that came in the last over that was impossible to achieve for Pakistan. I realized, Cricket is one religion in India and we all Indians are crazy behind the sport. I laughed when I first read about Cricket Junkies who are too optimist, but 30th Wed, '11, I felt the same when I thronged in with an unknown bunch of people filled with passion and valor to shout "Bharat mata ki Jai" .

Above all, People from different parts of world were not deterred to Mohali for this epic clash. How I wish, what could be the condition of the security personnel at the host? Prime Minister of the two countries, entire political fraternity along with elite business class, celebrities, and those filmmakers who might not be bothering about Cricket but did come to watch the clash. It was like a war-black out situation on the most polluted roads when match was progressing, However, people forgot their stature, status, cast, religion, community, creed, and all those rules and regulations to come out on the road to celebrate the much awaited victory. It happened on a great scale on 1st March 2003, when Sachin smashed Pak speedster trio at Centurion park in WC '03 South Africa, It grew with more spice when India lifted inaugural T20 World Cup after bowling out Pakistan in the Final, but last meeting was grandest among all. Bookies rumours spreading the vibe of Pakistan winning, but yet, enchanting was clear, a simple question was made, lets see who wins, the spot fixers who spent billions of dollars, of billions of hearts praying for an ultimate pride.

The match would be the most anticipatory event I have ever faced in my life and the trance it has created will take a long period to die. Against all the odds, Blue came out of the disciplined execution of bowling and fielding that had never been the forte of Indians. I heard it correct in the morning - "Today, is the day, when history will be reborn, it will be recreated, legends will be cemented, and a few will come out as heroes as mother of all battles is set to take a charge." First time, I say, Cricket is a religion that unites and glorifies the entire India.

Cactus seeds do not give you Roses

Any university you study in has an instinct spread across about its functioning and its blunders. Whichever college you might attend, you will always look for the darker side to punish it with brutal adjectives. Especially, at the arrival of the results, speculations are being made and always thanks to seniors and other guidance those prevails about the functioning about the system and its loopholes. Rumours often enthral and beguile student’s minds about the unexpected nature of its delivering results, rather forming the results.

How many times do we see a deserving candidate being let down? May be deserving students did not perform well at the final frontier! May be, the thought process of the person is not compatible with the things that are being asked for! Well, there are always few cases showing the flaws and unexpected mistakes committed but have anyone realises that the rumours are spread only by those who try making out excuses and spot out their difficulties. Has anyone seen a cactus seed flourishing itself into a rose? No, I guess.

However, failure does not end the life and its race. It just let you take an unwanted halt in the middle of the journey. So, please be patient and not restless, when you step back, or you think you are defeated. Stop blaming the system or making out the flaws, but try to make it in a way that you distinguish yourself. Watched a video with the title- “You have never lived, if you never failed”, which is so true, far by my knowledge, all the great people in this world either failed or being thrown out for not succeeding.

Heading to a Weekend

TGIF, a nice Acronym!! A thought crossed my mind when the fifth day of the week was calling it a day. Friday suppose to be the last working days for the Corporates. Wish College people, especially those from the professional courses and Master Degree get this so-called treat as in the enjoyment of adding two full days for the refreshment, for all the hard work they have done for the past five days. Anyways, time has becomes less or it moves faster than ever. Days pass like seconds, Weeks take few minutes, and Months are like days. How many of us actually remember, what did they do last weekend?? Even at the time of holiday, a professional might be thinking about the idea he/she needs to work on Monday, or to make a presentation, or to talk about the upcoming deal!! Same goes for the students, as they think of finishing assignments for few extra ranking grades, or to add something really valuable to their respective profiles.

The dissonance is like the Brownian movement that juggles in a person's mind. Wavering thoughts and logical dreams captivate the sub-conscious part to boost the fake competence. Fighting from within holds no significance when the loser is to be chosen amongst the real and reel you. Rather than cherishing, relish each moment and follow your desires-should be the motto. Nevertheless, we all do not achieve success in thriving the real force required to make it happen but we can at least try to count single moment of Saturday and Sunday.

Time is less, and if you get time to have fun, go and grab it as it does not stop for anybody, and every moment   passes showing a glimpse of a novel thought, which could be a new beginning or an old mistake. So relish it, then cherish it, and let flourish itself.

Happy Weekend!!:)

for troops who did not make through!!

dedicated to all those deserving candidates who shared the same barrack, same group, same batch, and same dream of making out to the finals at the selection process for serving the nation. But, it the penultimate day came out to be disappointing to all..

hundreds of us entered in the dark zone to join defence
but the penultimate number made a huge offence

some were personnal, came for better operation
few repeated for a chance of redemption

many were virgin, but fresh with talent
but dreams shattered to become a lieutenant

beds and barracks became the smoking precinct
side-bets started with numerology instinct

afternoon till later was the real time to get high
jostling few Sad into the bar to make them fly

night party consisted singing and dancing on own
until the photo or a compassionate was shown

speaking lectures with words so un-conveyable
final conference hearing turned out to be so unbelievable

shouting the number over shaking commando walk
the strategies failed to make the uncommon psychic to talk

holding snake, the troops ran singing war cry
being in group individual had to make a try

no one laid an opportunity or left a single chance
sadly, ultimate verdict made undeserved destiny dance

Sad Hai Yaar!! (It's Sad Mate)

How often do we find a person in a movie or an act where in, he/she keeps on repeating and using a sentence, phrase, or a word frequently that signifies his/her character?? Well, I believe I found the most unusual one at my maiden trip to Banglore during SSB interview. It was, (rather it IS, as I'm sure he wouldn't have stopped using it by now) "SAD HAI YAAR". The second sentence he spoke to me after the formal introduction, contained this phrase precisely twice. I kept wondering with a strange look on my face and later on I bombarded him with a series of questions asking him about the invention of this particular phrase with a quite happy smile!!

No matter, how the great fans of our typical Bollywood movies memorize the "Takiya-kalam" used by the infamous negative characters; but this Catch-Phrase by this young lad, Vishnu, drew everyone's attention and soon it became the word-whisker for every activity that took place. However, many of the acquaintances are yet to find the real reason, perhaps the real mood or the emotion involved in saying "SAD"....How come a person speak "Sad hai Yaaaaaar" infinite times for the so-called-happy-endings???? Although, the pet words like those containing "F" word, "Fish", "Chill Yaar", "Avoid Re" etc...are definitely away from the normality these days and are quite familiar and adopted by both the sex, but the latest to arrive in my conscious was "SAD".

Either the person is an intellectual cretin or a creative fellow who actually derived this and inherited to the person who had had a bed beside me. One day, among those of five that I had spent, the counting of the pronunciation of this phrase by the entire company grew to make the smallest three digits!!

No matter, where did he discover it, or where did he copied it from, the batch adopted it, in fact got adapted to it and whatever the situation had been, the catch-phrase by anyone of us delivered a big smile on our faces.

Small dedication to and remembrance of the selection batch that plays a few very good memories as a reprise about the small-big family that was formed for those five days. :-)

"kya be!! SAD HAI YAAR"

Hard Rock Cafe!!!

Dissonance was at peak when my friend, Manoj Alwani took me to one of the place that is situated at the heart of the Banglore city. The ancient looking architecture streamed me IN with a feeling of little rusty counters and smoke. However, that was the thought that proved itself and the first line I heard from the loud speaker was "Tommy used to work- Bon Jovi (Livin' on a prayer)" and soon I realized the aroma and essence of the cafe. Big screens showering the minute details of the World Cup '11 and fruity smell of Vodka based cocktails drew my ears and gazed ,me through my eyes. Finding no place due to the overload of Indian Hippies and a few occupied slots by Niggers and Europeans, we chose to sit in the Smoking Arena. The smell of joints, pondering beauties of the night, and everlasting Hard Rock music sent all my disappointment to the backyard of the mind.

Lemon Iced Vodka and Backstage Pass spilled down quickly kicking the little conscious with Nachos. The thrilling interiors, growling of the veteran hard rock bands, cream toppings over the platter, and a few drags of the smoke made the entire evening happening. Couple of more rounds of Whiskey Sour and few more numbers from the legends of GnR, Pink Floyd, Steve Vai, Nirvana, Metallica.....waved all through my mind and heart. The next time it will be a bigger bash and I will look forward to taste some more varieties of spilling Martini.!!!

Kabira: happy Women's day

happy Women's day

Woman is a word that is so complex to say and understand. The one thing that comes in my mind for the first woman and to whom I have been attached ever since my existence is Mother. We often say and have read many times that God can't be everywhere and so he made mother. Well, I think the statement is not mutilated at all. To make all the wealth and prosperity we have daughters. Life is certainly incomplete without wit, charm, fun, and off course fights, so we are gifted with sisters.
Women are so much necessary to give us a sense of completion and meaning to our lives. We guys marry, we fall into relationships, we get acquainted so easily with girls, and most important of all a best friend to a guy is always a girl.
Happy Women's day, and thanks to all those women who filled up all the voids of my life with their love, care, and understanding.

Someone's loss is Someone's Gain

Loss and Gain are complex to understand in terms of values and virtues. However, be your own con-secret when you think you like someone and soon thinking of advertising your emotions and feelings in the name of confession. In case the people around you notice it, then it may prove to be fatal to you in terms of emotional instability and so called "heart-break". It is quite difficult to express when you find the arms around someone which you thought ARE meant for you. The loneliness that prevails in the failure's mind grows drastically and reaches a peak that never settles down. It is simply unrestricted to perform well and affects the person's behaviour as a whole.

On the contrary, the success gives an added advantage to the GAINER, irrespective of the fact that it was the LOSER who made the way out clear for the other. He thinks he has won the battle but never thinks that it can also be compared with the DOG feeding on the left out bones. A person who lost his/her love to one who was waiting for the iron to get hot to strike. The undesired swapping of the muse is the consequences of the low self esteem and ingratitude. In the end, relationship of the Gainer dies and unknowingly the Loser that was thought in the beginning survives with a glimpse of forthcoming attraction and a new hope!!
